I owe some money to a friend, for some service done, it was just a verbal agreement, I haven't paid yet and he keeps telling me that he is taking me to court if i don't pay him $400. Im going to pay him tomorrow but i need to write a letter stating that i don't owe anything else because im paying in full that way he doesn't come back saying that i didn't pay and he goes to court. I need a sample letter, please..

were can I download a power of attorney form for North Carolina?

It shouldn't be a case of needing to write a book just to get your name out there- you should be writing it because you want to, because you have an idea, a story, that won't leave you alone until you write it. Then thinking about getting it published afterwards.. . And onto the questions-. Average pay? There isn't one. You don't get a salary like you would in a regular job, you get royalties. This is a percentage of the money made from sales of your book (on average it's 40 percent for ebooks and 15 to 20 percent for print releases) and unless you have one of the very rare instant bestsellers, you won't make a great deal from it. As one of the other answerers said, most authors have a job to earn money to live on and write in their spare time whilst dreaming of the fame and fortune that will allow them to give up that job.. . Do you have to pay to get it published? No. If you go to a publisher (and I'm not talking about self-publishing here) you should not be charged for them publishing your book or for the editorial or cover design services or anything else. The publisher makes their money from their percentage of the money your book makes.. . Making yourself known- This is the hardest part, in my opinion. The publisher will have a list of reviewers they send your book to, and they often provide you with a list of places to set up author pages etc. You can also contact local presses and media and ask if they would consider reviewing your book if you send them a copy.
