? Intentional Tort/Personal Injury Defense:? Obtained a defense jury verdict in favor of grading contractor client in the Orange County Superior Court. Plaintiff alleged both negligence and assault/battery in connection with a construction site accident claim.
? Premises Liability Defense:? Defended client restaurant in a suit for premises liability brought by a woman who claimed she slipped and fell, incurring various injuries. Plaintiff demanded a settlement of $250,000, but after issue was taken with plaintiff's suspicious claims and it became clear the defense was taking the case to trial, plaintiff settled for a fraction of the original demand.
? Very favorable settlement of personal injury claim against a popular racetrack was obtained after the jury submitted questions during deliberations suggesting that a defense verdict was likely. Products
? Products Liability:? Defended product manufacturer client against an indemnity cross complaint arising from claims of toxic tort exposure by the plaintiff who alleged permanent respiratory injuries. Negotiated a nominal settlement directly with the plaintiff and obtained the court's certification of a good faith settlement under CCP 877.6.
