• Kristen C. Weidus was born and raised in Brunswick, Ohio. After graduating salutatorian from Brunswick High School in 2005, Kristen attended Hiram College in Hiram, Ohio.

  In 2009, Kristen graduated Cum Laude from Hiram College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English (with honors) and a minor in Ethics. Upon graduating from Hiram, Kristen moved to Washington, DC to attend the University of the District of Columbia David A. Clarke School of Law. Kristen graduated Magna Cum Laude and earned her Juris Doctor in 2012.

  Kristen was recognized for the following achievements: UDC-DCSL Dean's Fellow (recognition of outstanding academic achievement), UDC-DCSL Dean's Award Recipient May of 2012 (recognition of outstanding service), and National Association of Women Lawyers Outstanding Law Student Award May of 2012.

  While in law school, Kristen served as President of the Women's Law Society from May of 2010-April of 2012. She also served as President and Founder of the UDC-DCSL Disability Rights and Advocacy Society, which was created in 2011. During her final year of law school, Kristen was the Articles Editor of the UDC-DCSL Law Review.

  Kristen relocated to Western Pennsylvania after taking the Pennsylvania Bar exam in July of 2012. She was admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar in October 2012. Kristen's focus areas are school law, childrens' issues, juvenile court matters, estate planning for families with disabilities, federal civil rights actions, and a federal trial and appellate practice. Both a living will and a health care proxy are forms of Advance Directives. The living will details what you would like to have done for you in the event that you are unable to tell someone yourself. For example, "I would like to have CPR, or I would like to have a feeding tube." A health care proxy is someone that you name that will make these decisions for you in the event you are unable to make them yourself. Example: "I would like my mother to make my decisions." The health care proxy would only have the power to make decisions if you could not, for example if you were in a coma.

My husbands mother gave him her maiden name as his last name and she has his daddy's last name. He wants to change it so he has his daddy's last name so are coming baby will also. Well my question is do I have to get a name change to or will i be able to do it without going to court?.
