Mike is a partner and chair of the firm's Business Group. His practice focuses on business law, including securities, mergers and acquisitions, banking and the drafting and review of contracts. He represents companies in all stages, from emerging and developing companies to family-owned businesses to publicly held companies, both as general counsel and in specialized transactions. Mike represents a broad spectrum of industries, including: banking, e-commerce, energy, entertainment, insurance, manufacturing, software, and, wholesale distribution.
Mike has extensive experience in securities law, and serves as general counsel to accelerated and non-accelerated SEC filers. He assists public companies with all SEC disclosure obligations, capital-based financings and public offerings. He serves as counsel to emerging companies with private placements and venture capital transactions. He provides advice regarding resales of restricted stock under Rule 144, and with respect to DTC, OTCBB and Nasdaq.
Mike has broad transactional experience involving purchases and sales of companies of all sizes, from asset sales by small businesses to mergers and acquisitions of large highly regulated public corporations, including bank holding companies. He also represents businesses with divestitures of subsidiaries and with company liquidations and dissolutions.
Mike has assisted financial institutions, including banks, credit unions and bank holding companies with regulatory questions and contract review, particularly questions related to company structure, issuance of bank or bank holding company stock, joint ventures, and the ability to enter into less additional activities. He is involved with insurance agency licensing issues and with acquisitions of insurance agencies.

In fact, perhaps make the "Currently, I am working..." sentence the 2nd sentence of your letter, up in the 1st paragraph. Make the "I believe that I am a strong candidate..." the 3rd sentence in that paragraph.. . If you have been a sales associate for an impressive period of time, I'd state the number of years in your cover letter. Hiring decision makers love to hire people who've already been doing the job for a significant period of time. It proves that they CAN do the job, which is really all they care about.. . Some people recommend putting your phone number in the last line of your letter, even though it also at the top of your letter. I guess the idea is that it just makes it super easy for them to find your phone number. I see all sorts of direct male marketing letters (for satellite TV, etc.) doing this.. . I'm always seeing books in the library, and certain web sites, that claim to have cover letter model that are so great that they practically guarantee to get you an interview. I've looked at some of these, but never saw anything that impressive. I think the standard letter like yours is the best anyone can do, in general.. . But one thing I see in books that is true is this: The really desirable jobs are gotten via networking, connections and friendships, not sending out cover letters and resumes in a blind, anonymous manner. Maybe you can find a way to develop this angle more if you haven't already. The world of work, employment and business is like a secret society in which people are constantly trading favors. Lots and lots of jobs, and all the most desirable jobs, are obtained because someone who knows you recommended you to a manager with an opening, or someone who knows you told you about an opening at such and such a place. Right or wrong, a main reason that many people are active in organizations (churches, Kiwanis, volunteering, political parties, summer softball league, Sierra Club, etc.) is to make connections for jobs and career advancement.. . I would need some clarification about what kind of letter of recommendation you need before I could fully answer your question. I've heard of art supplements when students are applying to be an academic major in a liberal arts college. Are you applying to be a dance major or a regular academic major?. . In general, your teacher just needs to talk about you as a student - especially your good qualities. But if this is for a dance program, your teacher needs to play up your potential as a dancer. If this is for an academic program, your teacher should focus more on your traits as an all-around student and the depth of your study in this art form: determination, effort, years of dedication, listening skills, ability to work in a group, etc.. . The best letters of recommendation should be sent without the students seeing them. So most people do not know what a "typical" letter looks like unless they've sat on an admissions committee. In addition, you wouldn't want a letter to follow a format. It's supposed to be individual and personal in hopes that the admission committee can know you better AS AN INDIVIDUAL. If there was a format to follow, they'd have a form to fill out. But the two main pieces that the teacher needs to include are A) how long they've taught you, and B) whether they recommend you (or not). If they can say lots more about how wonderful you are for three or four paragraphs, you're golden.. . Unfortunately, most of the dance teachers I've known have not had the greatest writing skills. And since your teacher has no experience with writing a letter of recommendation, this does not bode well for you. In this case, I'd suggest you brainstorm a list of your strengths that you'd like your teacher to include. Tailor those strengths to the nature of your college program and offer some appropriate adjectives to go along with them
