• David is an associate in the firm's Litigation Group and is chair of the Construction Law Group. David serves as litigation counsel for contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and other business concerns within the construction industry. He regularly advises his clients on matters such as contract drafting and dispute resolution, surety bond claims, mechanics liens and bid protests. David works closely with a number of local and regional trade organizations, and he often lectures and writes about topics pertinent to the construction industry.

  In addition to his construction law practice, David also represents insurance companies and employers in life, health, disability, and ERISA litigation in both state and federal courts.

I've met aspiring fiction writers in extreme need of a creative writing workshop who still act snooty towards fanfiction writers just because the fic is usually based on the existing story. However, those people ignore the fact that fanfiction writers have to pay extreme attention to characterization, and that they usually have to make up their own plots because readers do not want a rehash of the original story. Perhaps the only difference from them and other fiction writers is that the characters are not originally their own - but good fanfic writers are able to develop them so well that they actually do "own" them in the writing.

The presence or absence of the document is irrelevant - if a stranger found the form and presented it, he would not be entitled to the money simply by virtue of having the piece of paper.. By the same token, you are not disentitled to the payment simply because you have lost the same bit of paper.. . The legal cynic in me would suggest that a lot of organisations claim that you can only get money, or claim on the guarantee, if you keep the 'original' document they give you. . They hope, of course, that you'll lose it and not realise that the document is just a worthless receipt for payment and then not claim..
