We have a friend who married some loser guy.. Turns out he has $26,000 in debts and she is not sure if she should change her last name on her SS card to his last name. Would it mean his debts are her debts? Would it ruin her credit score?. . I dont have the full story about his debts.. Im thinking they could be some student loans (since they used to be almost $40k) but from what Im told, this guy has to go some Social Security office to make his payments on his debt. Ive never heard of anything like this, but ive never had any student loans either. His wife says she thinks the bills may have something to do with an illness of his?!?! and the bills are from medical care or treatment.
