  • From its roots in the Gulf Coast of Texas where it has represented workers exposed to the toxic hazards of the petrochemical industry, the Provost Umphrey Law Firm, L.L.P. has grown to become one of the nation's most successful plaintiff's law firms.

Today the firm represents clients in litigation ranging from toxic chemical exposures to large scale antitrust and consumer class actions. Provost Umphrey is one of the few firms in the United States that has the ability to represent its clients on either an individual or a class basis while providing the necessary resources to fund and staff the cases on a contingency basis.

The firm and its founding partner, Walter Umphrey, have twice been recognized in Forbes Magazine's review of the nation's most successful trial lawyers. In addition, firm attorneys have won numerous awards including ratings as one of the "best lawyers in America," the International Who's Who of Professionals, Million Dollar Advocates Forum, Outstanding Young Lawyer Award, Who's Who in American Law, Legal Pro Bono Programs as well as numerous other accolades.

Counted among the firm's attorneys are a former federal court judge, a former Texas State Court Judge, and a former president of an international labor union. Provost Umphrey counsel have lectured at colleges and universities, testified before committees of the United States Senate and House of Representatives and received appointments by elected officials including the President of the United States and the Governor of Texas

The firm's client base has included an array of clients from workers to large municipal and state governments. For example, the firm served as lead counsel to the State of Texas in its landmark $23 billion recovery of damages from the Tobacco industry.

On behalf of its clients, Provost Umphrey regularly records settlements and or verdicts in multi-million dollar range.

Beyond its abilities to represent workers in large scale catastrophic industrial accidents, Provost Umphrey coordinates - in conjunction with some of the nation's most progressive unions - programs to screen workers for injuries related to exposure to asbestos, silica sand, benzene and other toxics.

In addition to experienced trial counsel, the firm brings to the table a vast array of resources including more than 300 support staff, and offices across the country. The firm maintains a heliport atop its Beaumont, Texas offices and a hangar for its aircraft at the Jefferson County, Texas airport. The firm's Citation Jet allows firm attorneys and staff to reach industrial accidents within hours of their occurrence.

promote my business letter template/sample?

Because it is not there does not necessarily mean it doesnt exist. Yours may be a state that does not require it.. . The best way I can think of is to check with the person's bank. If a POA was presented there to be used, the bank would make a copy of it to keep on file. I am not sure of the legality of them showing this to you though.. . One other thought comes to mind in this. You can get a standard revocation of power of attorney form from the legal section of your library and make a copy of it. Then use the revocation to erase any existing POA.. . I hope this helps and you find it useful

who invent English Letters?

Its been a long time since I had to apply formally for a job. I've found that things have changed since my last successful application, things like cover letters.. What do you put on a cover letter?. Should it be short & sweet or lengthy & detailed?. Should it be personalised to each individual employer that i apply to?. Or should I make it job specific & use it with all applications for similar jobs?. . Any assistance would be greatly appreciated..
