Next, you need to accept the current scientific view that this particular universe burst into existence about 14 billion years ago - called the "Big Bang" - but in reality, it is more of a rapid expansion of space. Dont think of it as an explosion within space. Space itself is what expanded - not matter within an existing space.. . Next, go with the concept of Gravity, and understand that as matter formed (complex and way too much to discuss here - so just accept that "matter formed") this universe's law of "gravity" drew the matter together (well that law and some others that only worked for tiny little things like atoms and littler things yet) and as bits of matter drew together, energy was created (another law that we have to accept happens in this particular universe) and so "suns" or "stars" were created. The "little things" force caused matter to change its form until heavy atoms were formed and when these suns died, the heavy matter was flung out into space.. . Now the next bit is a bit less certain, but it is likely that suns captured matter as it was passing by, and that matter began to go round the capturing sun (ours is not the only one in the universe). As the matter went round the sun, it began to come together under that old "gravity" force again. As matter gathered into lumps, it was better at attracting more bits of matter (just believe it - it is part of the Law of Gravity that happens in this universe) and these lumps of matter created energy and melted. The heavier bits tended to form closer to the suns and the lighter stuff formed further away - so we have solid little "planets" close to the sun, and big gaseous planets further away. Some of the planets might have broken up and formed the "asteroids".. . So that is how we currently figure the Solar System was created.
