I am divorced and own property with pets. I am 55 years old and want to protect my home and animals should something happen to me but I can not afford a lawyer. What do I need to do in order to write a will that will hold up in a court of law? Also, do I need to specify each and every possession or can I just more or less say "everything I own" I leave to so and so? thanks.

I am applying to an entry-level office job in an agency I REALLY want to work for... I have a job application already filled out, along with the required written responses to certain questions about my knowledge and abilities.... . I figured that I would still attach a copy of my resume, but would a cover letter as well be way too much?. It is a county office for a branch of the USDA... Not super large or professional, but being a federal opening they are likely going to have to sort through a ridiculous amount of applicants..

Changing your first name is a different process. Last name changes for brides get fast-tracked and is made easy, but changing your name for non-marriage reasons is not as easy.. . It's not difficult, either, but you have to follow the process as set by your county. When I was 18 I had a middle name added (my parents didn't give me one), and basically it amounted to filing some paperwork, paying some fees, having a hearing with a judge where I swore I was not changing my name to avoid criminal charges or creditors, and then he granted it changed. My SSN card was amended, and I think my birth certificate was updated... not sure on that last thing, though.

How the universe formed?. . The Big Bang theory is science's best explanation of how the universe was created. The theory asserts that our entire universe was created when a tiny (billions of times smaller than a proton), super-dense, super-hot mass exploded and began expanding very rapidly, eventually cooling and forming into the stars and galaxies with which we are familiar. This event is said to have happened approximately 15 billion years ago. Rather than expanding outward into some preexisting vacuum, the event of the Big Bang was space itself expanding - perhaps at speeds greater than light. (While Einstein's theory of relativity forbids anything within space from travelling faster than light, it sets no limitations on how fast the fabric of space itself may expand.). . The Big Bang theory was originally developed in the late 1920s by Georges-Henri Lema?tre, a Belgian Catholic priest and astronomer, an early advocate of solutions to the general relativity field equations which predicted our universe was expanding. (For cosmological theories to be taken seriously, they must pose possible solutions to Einstein's general relativity field equations.) Though the expanding-universe solution to the field equations was derived by the Russian cosmologist Alexander Friedman in 1922, Lema?tre was the first to realize that a continuously expanding universe implies that at some point in the past the universe must have been much denser and smaller, even atom-sized.. . The Big Bang theory is supported primarily by two major lines of evidence - first, the fact that all galaxies are rapidly moving away from each other (confirmed by Edwin Hubble in 1929), and secondly, the presence of the cosmic microwave background radiation, or the "echo" of the Big Bang. The cosmic microwave background radiation was not discovered until 1965, and up to this point, scientists were divided between the Big Bang theory and its rival, Fred Hoyle's steady state model, which asserted that the universe was expanding, but staying basically the same because new matter was continuously being created.. . Since the late 1960s, the Big Bang theory has been the dominant explanation for the birth of our universe. Fred Hoyle's steady state model has been discarded. Most of cosmology since that time has consisted of modifications and extensions of Big Bang theory. Because physicists have not yet formulated a consistent theory that explains how gravity operates on extremely small scales (like those present at the instant of the Big Bang), cosmologists are unable to formulate theories as to what happened before about 10^-43 seconds after the Big Bang. Our universe may have originated as a pointlike entity with nearly-infinite density, or perhaps something else. Our mathematics, instruments, and scientific methodologies may need to be substantially improved before any further progress is made.. -------------------------------------------------------. . How the sun formed?. . The planets in our solar system are well-aligned and prograde, revolving in the same direction as that of their parent star, the sun. For hundreds of years, astronomers have considered this pattern as a clue that the planets and sun formed from the same spinning disk of gas and dust. They have assumed the same about other planetary systems.. --------------------------------------------------------. . How galaxies formed?. . Baryon inhomogeneities in the early high-density universe may account for the origin of galaxies. Any such inhomogeneity is amplified by baryon-pair annihilation as the universe expands and can eventually result in the formation of galaxies and antigalaxies. This process is more efficient than the usual process which assumes that the initial conditions of a structured universe are density fluctuations.. --------------------------------------------------------

The likelihood is that you will not inherit directly from your grandpa anyway, but that your dad will. Assuming Obama's plan goes through and that your grandpa dies soon, your dad (or your grandma, or whoever the direct descendants are) will have to pay taxes on the estate, as has always been the case. It seems unlikely that much would change anyway, because if McCain had won, he wouldn't have been able to get rid of the tax anyway given that there is a Democratic Congress. The government has never taken away everything, and it never will.
