there is no requirement that you hire a lawyer to prepare your will. Legit as in is it a good idea and are they certain, or even likely, to meet your needs? Heck no! I cannot tell you how many estates I've seen screwed up because people thought they would save $200 and do their own will. If you insist on doing it, at least run the finished product by an estate planning lawyer where you live and let them review it for you. Please.
