Unless you plan on going privately you can have the procedure done for free. Gender Identity Dysphoria is a recognised medical condition and the NHS covers its treatment.. . Unfortunately you cannot undergo full gender reassignment at your age but there are steps you can take with your parents consent. If you can get parental consent the first thing you need to do is see your GP with a parent present and discuss being referred to a Gender Identity Clinic that deals with under 18s, so far I only know of 2 in the UK, there is one in Leeds however I don't know its name and one in London, Tavistock Gender Identity Clinic. Sometimes GP's aren't fully aware of places that provide these services, some don't even realise there are NHS clinics that does this for over 18s, let alone NHS clinics for under 18s so it is a good idea to have the names of the clinics you can guide them to give you a referral too. When I first saw my GP, he was like "I don't think the NHS funds this sort of treatment" and I was like "Yeah it does" and gave him the name of my nearest clinic. But yeah, Tavistock Gender Identity Clinic in London or the one in Leeds (seen as you know the location, just tell them Leeds and they should be able to find the name).. . Once referred to the Gender Identity Clinic and you are given your first appointment you will have to go through an assessment stage with a therapist who will determine whether or not they feel you suffer from Gender Identity Dysphoria (don't be off put by this, it does feel a little like you are going to be judge on whether you are truly trans before you go through the process, but once you start and have finished with it, you realise they were only facilitating your decision and just ensuring your certainty) and if the gender therapist and you decide you are certain about this they may consider prescribing you hormone blockers to halt female puberty and may even considering prescribing testosterone (both of which you will need parental consent for) to send you through male puberty.. . After this until 18 (if you are very lucky sometimes 16) they won't be able to do much more, as they can't consider surgery up until this point, however the hormones and hormone blockers and getting all the therapy out of the way is really worth a try and the earlier you start on hormones the better there effects.. . If you can't get parental consent, unfortunately you will have to wait till 18 till you can start this process.. . Hope I helped
