You should definitely meet with an attorney and get your affairs in order. Talk to your husband about who you would want to name as guardian in the event that something were to happen to you, and find time to sit down and speak with the person or couple and make sure that they are willing to be your child's guardian.. . Decide what you want to do with your assets, including any property, life insurance, investments, and retirement funds. You can set up a trust that will help your guardians with the expenses of raising your child, provide for college expenses when the time comes, and the rest can remain in the trust until your child reaches a designated age (usually 25 or 20, depending on your wishes). If you have several children, you may want to provide a sum of money up front for the guardians, because the expansion of their family might require a move to a larger home to accomodate everyone. And then you can set up the trust to provide a monthly payment to the guardians while your child is still living in their home.

I've had a look at a few templates, but their so straight forward and kind of rude. I like where I'm working but I want to try other places, so is there a way to put a 'nice' spin on a resignation letter?.

Three scenarios I had questions about, keep in mind this is a question about the legal system in the US.. . 1) If a woman takes the mans surname in marriage and there's a divorce (or the man takes the womans name), can she be sued by the ex-husband or his family to change her name away if she doesn't want to change it?. . 2) If a family disowns a member, can the family them sue to have them change thier name away?. . 3) If you have a name that might be considered "prestigious" (Rockafeller, Carnegie, etc...), can a more prestigious member of that family sue you to change your name if you do fit their "vision" of that family?. . My question is actually more about merit (could such a case actually be decided in the plaintiff's favor) rather than on whether it can be filed..

If you form a corporation, do it in your home state.. . If you form a corporation in a different state, then you have to register as a foreign corporation in your home state to do business in your home state. Which is more expenses.. . The reason you form a corporation in a different state, is because the laws of that state may be more favorable towards the corporation, and the corporation has to abide by the Business corporation act of that state. If there is a legal issue, you now have to hire an attorney in the other state to handle it for you. And you still have to file as a foreign corporation in your state.. . The other reason you file in a different state, is to find a state that will let you file and the shareholders or directors or officers of the corporation may not be on public records. If you are engaged in a business where you do not want your identity on public records, then you would look for a state that allows that, but you still have to file as a foreign corporation to do business in your state.. . My recommendation, is yes, form a corporation. But in your home state where your principal place of business is.
