  • Higgins, Roberts & Suprunowicz, P.C., traces its long and storied history to 1837 when firm founder David Cady Smith was admitted to the Bar. In the decades and centuries following, Smith has been succeeded by a long and continuous line of attorneys, judges and other elected officials. Our attorneys have played instrumental roles in the founding and development of Schenectady institutions.

Our firm has had a long-standing relationship with the Schenectady Savings Bank, now, through a series of name changes and mergers, Bank of America. David Cady Smith served as attorney for the bank. He was also a Trustee and eventually President of the bank during the period 1875 to 1904. He was joined in the legal practice by his son, Everett Smith, who, like him, represented the bank and became its President. Everett Smith's brother, Gerardus Smith, was the President of the Schenectady Bank which merged with and became a part of the Schenectady Trust Company in June of 1902, currently Trustco Bank. Gerardus Smith was also the owner of the Schenectady Gazette, currently The Daily Gazette.

State Senator Edwin Miller became a partner with Everett Smith in the practice of law in 1911. Senator Miller's family owned the Union Book Company. After Everett Smith died, Senator Miller took Harold R. Beyerl as a partner in 1921. Harold Beyerl named his only child, Edwin J. Beyerl, after Senator Edwin Miller. Edwin Beyerl too, became an attorney and joined the firm in 1956. He retired in 1987.

At the end of World War II, Frank S. Higgins joined the firm, followed in the 1950's by John Van Etten, James P. Houlihan, Richard E. Roberts and Edwin J. Beyerl. All of them were partners with Harold R. Beyerl. Robert J. Coan joined the firm in 1959 and retired in 2002. James H. Erceg joined the firm in 1964. He retired in 2005 after 41 years with the firm.

The firm name evolved and changed with the passage of time, but there was always a continuity of lawyers working together and providing high quality legal services to Schenectady area clients. Beginning in 1964, except for a relatively brief period the firm name has been Higgins, Roberts, Beyerl & Coan, P.C. This changed in 2012 when the firm became Higgins, Roberts & Suprunowicz, P.C.

During the 1950's, the firm enlarged the scope of its practice beyond bank and real estate law to include a concentration in estate and trust planning, estate and trust administration and elder law. The firm has since expanded into other areas of law including corporate, not-for-profit, personal injury, taxation, administrative, education, general litigation, insurance, adoption, bankruptcy, foundations, matrimonial and family law.

Several lawyers of distinction in the Capital District have been associated with the firm as partners, associates and clerks. The present Schenectady County Supreme Court Judge, The Honorable Barry D. Kramer, and the present Schenectady County District Attorney, Robert M. Carney are former partners of the law firm.

The men and women of Higgins, Roberts & Suprunowicz, P.C., believe that their experience and dedication, combined with the unprecedented history and continuity of the firm, bring a unique excellence to the delivery of legal services.

i called this agency in cork and they sent me a letter about a modelling training course they want me to do. it costs 120 euro and they said i get a chance to get signed with them, also the course looks pretty good it covers alot of things but i'm not sure if this is normal for modelling agencies and could it be a scam?.

If they are not leaving then why change the locks? You change the locks between tenants, not during a tenancy. This just seems unnecessary.. . There is no template for this kind of notice because it is not usually done.. . Just type something out with all the necessary Information.

He said: "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.". . They all left eventually, and Jesus told the woman to sin no more, and that her sins were forgiven her.

tell you what, if you give us a sample, we can proof read it and make it better for you. if we write it for you then it won't be your ideas.

I am visiting a friend in Poland and need an invitation letter from him for the short stay Shengen visa. Can someone please guide me as to what format the letter should be in ?.

The last two semester's i did not do good in school, in fact I withdrew from half of my classes. I was told I would have to make up all the hours during the summer or I would be put on suspension. There was no way possible for me to complete 12 hours during the summer plus work full-time, so I just completed 6 hours. Since I did not complete the total of 12 hours I am now on financial aid suspension. I was told I could request for it to be appealed but would have to write an appeal letter. In the last year I went through a pretty bad seperation that took me back and fourth to court several times over custody of my daughter, I was considering putting a copy of the court documents into my appeal letter to show the staff that I had a serious reason as to why I didn't do as well as possible, but I didn't know if that would be acceptable. I really don't want to "air out my dirty laundry" but really need financial aid to complete the next semester. Any advice i will greatly appreciate!. Thank you. .
