Married & name changed, what name do I sign with?

This is the "Power of Attorney" letter my father had made out several years ago naming me as poa.. . Know all persons that I, (name) and adult bona fide resident citizen of (County, State, Country, etc) do hereby appoint and designate (name) an adult bona fide resident citizen of (County...etc) as my attorney-in-fact and agent with full power and authority to handle and perform any act that the principal might or could do, and to administer any and all of my affairs, execute and convey any and all documents and/or titles to items of personal and/or real property in my ownership, totally and/or in part, as if this principal had executed and/or delivered and/or conveyed himself. This it is the absolute intention of the undersigned principal to convey unto the attorney-in-fact herein, (name), complete authority, power and direction to do any and all things that are necessary for the general conduct of the principal's business affairs, of any kind and nature, dealing with real and/or personal property, in the same manner as if the principal himself had performed said acts, deeds, and conveyances.. . Make sure you have it notarized by a lawfully commissioned notary public.

    clarification regarding Power of attorney?

Norms . Social rules governing the event and the participants' actions and reaction. In a playful story by the aunt, the norms might allow many audience interruptions and collaboration, or possibly those interruptions might be limited to participation by older females. A serious, formal story by the aunt might call for attention to her and no interruptions as norms..

You can change your surname and christian name to anything you want to. You have to see a solicitor and get it changed legally and denounce all the other names you have been known by. I recently changed by surname to my partners - we are not married and have just had a child and I wanted us all to have the same surname. I saw a solicitor and denounced the name I had, which was the surname of my ex husband and then became the name of my partner. Easy. You can both do it to be called whatever you wish. Think carefully though, cos later in life when your grandchildren or great grandchildren try to trace their family tree, it could be difficult unless they were aware of the change. Also, if you have a name that would make you the last in the line and therefore no one to carry the name on. You know, all that sort of stuff. My brother, for example is the last of our name - what was my maiden name. He has only daughters, therefore no one to carry the name any further. A lot to be thought about - other than for appearances sake.

If you have legally changed your name, can people still write you checks to your old name? For example, they write it too Dolyn Smith because they don't know my last name has legally changed to Dolyn Brown. Can it still be deposited, or do they have to rewrite the check?. . I figured I'd ask here because maybe some of you married ladies might know. Thanks:). I haven't changed my name yet, and I'm not changing it to my husbands name. My sister and I have been kicking around the idea of changing our last names to our Mother's maiden name because we don't like our father and really don't want his last anymore. However, we don't want him to know about it, and every Christmas he sends us a check as a present (it's not a lot of money at all, and we only deposit it just so no issues with him arise).. . I know this sounds petty, but you don't know the relationship we've had with this man. If I could just cash his stupid check at Christmas without him knowing we changed our names, that would be great..
