My mother died last Saturday. I have never had to deal with this sort of situation before and am nervous about what steps I need to take next. I made an appointment to see an attorney, but wanted to get some feedback here as well while I wait. I live in Ohio.. . I am the executor of my mother's estate. She died with a will. I have four siblings. The will states that I am to inherit the house and property and my siblings are to inherit the rest of the estate, divided equally. Before my mother died, she changed her mind about how she wanted to divide the estate and I intend to honor her wishes even though they were never written down or expressed legally. Essentially she decided to sell the house and split everything equally among my siblings except my oldest brother, whom she wished to inherit only $1000. (Long story, he's in prison. Been dealing drugs / addicted to them for decades, even when he gets out statistically speaking he'll be back in within a year).. . The estate is relatively small. The house appraised for $50,000 last year. She had a car worth around $5000. Her savings account held around $60,000.. . Mom made me joint holder on her bank account with rights of survivorship several years ago

So fill out your advanced directives to the best of your ability. Appoint a durable power of attorney for medical decisions and have frank conversations with them about your wishes. But no, you can't predict every possible scenario and make a zillion informed decisions ahead of time. Palliative care and end of life counseling is very helpful and appropriate at this point.. . The modern day use of the term death panel was coined by Sarah Palin to divert attention from the real issues, strike fear into the hearts and minds of the American public, and advance her standing in the public eye. There are enormous problems with our healthcare system and our allocation of resources. It is truly a shame she chose not to address these issues.

my sister in law did my moms taxes, my mom didnt really want her to, but my brother convinced her too, my mom is on social security, and welfare, and my sister in law lied in the taxes, and put that my mom worked and went to school to get her more money, after finding this out my mother wanted nothing to do with this, so she gave the check back, and told her to amend, what she didnt know was the money from her check was already somehow in my sister in laws bank acount, so when my mom gave the check back, her and my brother just spent the money, and got rid of the check, now the irs wants my mom to pay the money back, and my brother and his wife spent the money and are laughing their asses off, knowing my mom could lose everything, my brother also has beat my mom before, and him and his wife are pot heads who smoke out with their 10 and 5 year old sons, i no longer respect or care for those theives, what should my mom do? or what should i do? is my mom gonna have to be the one to suffer? i feel bad for her, shes so sick, and depressed by what her own son did....i need some legal advice or any advice..help please...

Who do you trust , why do you trust them and your advice to me about trusting people ?. . Jazakallah kair x.

It's a good idea to get written letters of reference because you can keep the original and supply copies. This means you can continue to use that reference, even if the person leaves the company or you lose track. Also, this helps ease the burden on the referrer, as they don't have to continually provide phone references. Plus you can supply the letter of reference upon request, and let the interviewer know tha they can also contact the reference if they have any questions or concerns (check with them first).
