Our attorneys also led the successful fight to stop the Hudson River Expressway, which resulted in an opinion that is the first reported decision contained in the Environmental Law Institute’s Environmental Law Reporter. The Storm King Mountain disputes preceded the first Earth Day in 1970, the enactment of the National Environmental Policy Act and the creation of the United States Environmental Protection Agency.

A lot has changed since those early days, but Sive, Paget & Riesel continues to be an industry leader, assisting clients in the preparation of environmental assessments and Environmental Impact Statements (EISs) under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and New York State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA), working on Brownfield redevelopment projects and environmental permitting, and supporting corporate transactions with due diligence reviews and risk assessments. Most of the Firm’s attorneys are experienced litigators, prosecuting and defending Superfund cost recovery actions, oil spill cases and challenges to EISs and environmental reviews. We have also defended a number of complex toxic tort cases, which have resulted in a number of landmark court decisions in this area. We remain on the cutting edge, lecturing frequently on a variety of topics, including quickly evolving areas such as alternative energy, global warming and climate change. Our attorneys counsel our clients and keep them informed as to new laws and regulations, such as the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI), are put into place as the New York region and our nation grapple with the complex array of issues relating to climate change and the potential environmental impacts from global warming.

So my husbands ex girlfriend changed their daughters last name from his to her now husbands last name..he didn't get any info about it and we were wondering what we could do about it. She up and left years ago changing her address her phone numbers and completely disappeared so he couldn't have contact with his daughter we have been trying everything to get in touch with her and its been dead ends everywhere..the catch is that my husbands sister had contract with them but won't involve us knowing it will run her connection because his daughters mother wants to eliminate my husband all together for no apparent reason. Is there anything we can do? We are in Washington state if that helps. He's pretty torn up and we would just like to know our options if there is any..
