Hi I changed my daughters surname from her (dads) to mine as she hasn't seen him for 2 years, most of her life. He has moved back to the area and has heard that her surname has been changed. He has said that he is going to get it changed back can he do this?. He is on the birth certificate, I was able to do it as I didn't know where he was and he hasn't had contact x.

I know a thing or two about the law (I just graduated law school, and I'm waiting on my bar exam results), but I never give legal advice here, just legal information. The distinction is subtle, but very important.. . I'm not a lawyer (yet), so I can't actually give legal advice - that would constitute the unauthorized practice of law. Furthermore, I don't know a single competent lawyer who would give legal advice on an internet message board - that could create an attorney-client relationship, along with all of the baggage that comes along with it.. . Legal advice would involve someone saying something like this: "based on your factual situation, and the law that applies to it, this is what you should do." I would never do that. Besides, most of these questions lack sufficient detail to give competent advice.. . Legal information, on the other hand, is something like this: "Here's what the law says. Do with this information whatever you please."

I'd call HR and talk to them about benefits. Your manager probably doesn't know himself. As for the new job, if you need it now then take it. Everyone, you, your new boss and the company is under the 6 month review anyway. If your concerns don't dissipate or get more pressing with that time start looking around. I would not be comfortable working with people who don't give a professional appearance.

Does anyone know a good attorney who covers RICO cases in the state of Florida? The Florida Bar had no answers..
