For the last few months I have been receiving daily phone calls from a collection agency. I requested they send me a letter with information on it and was told they don't do anything by mail. I looked up the Business Practices and Consumer Protection Act in BC and it states that a collection agency cannot continue phone calls if you request to be contacted in writing. When they phoned I asked for contact through writing only, only to be told again they don't do anything in writing. Back in August or earlier I printed out the template from Consumer Protection BC and mailed it to the agency as well, but it went ignored.. . I'm not disputing the debt. The amount I'm unsure of, which is why I asked for the letter in the first place, but I do owe the company they're claiming to represent. Is there anything I can do to stop the daily (sometimes more than once) phone calls? I couldn't pay a dime at the moment anyways..

This is a reason to allow someone to stay the two weeks. If they let you go, you were technically fired or laid off.
