This great institution is unfortunately run by Donkeys. By people who have been given the wrong position in this establishment. When you have to point the finger to those that sit in charge of the NHS, you also have to look at he same attitude which our Politicians take. Its not a promising situation, when the staff are required to produce figures which in reality amounts to neglect for those that are most vulnerable in their care.. Too much outside interference from Government Ministers, who are more concerned in saving money, then in the saving of ill patients.. Many working practises amongst the Doctors are controlled by directives from the EU. Its a situation that should be left to the staff, who I am sure are continuously being criticised, without given them the voice to be heard.. If the quality of service, falls below what is reasonably expected, then surely there is something very wrong in the structure of the Management running of a Hospital.. Have a nice day

Having said that, let's talk Powers of Attorney. Unless it is a Durable Power of Attorney, then it is of no value to the acquaintance while your brother is in prison. A general power of attorney ONLY allows your brother's acquaintance to perform matters that your brother is able to physically do at the time the transaction occurred. Your brother is not able to go to a bank, or make any type of transactions for the next 6 years, so neither is the POA. In fact, if the POA attempts to use his powers...then he's committing a crime. On the other hand, if the power of attorney is of the durable type, then that's an entire different story. A durable power of attorney drawn up before he went to prison, allows the appointed person to act on behalf of your brother, even AFTER your brother is incapacitated. (His incapacitation being that he's currently incarcerated.). . But either way, whether it's a general or durable type, if the acquaintance uses his powers to gain anything while your brother is in prison, then he has committed a crime...whether it's fraud or preventing the state from accessing rights to the entire business entity.. . My suggestion would be for your brother to go to a legal junkie in the prison where he is being held, and get something drawn up that revokes the individuals poa, and then reassign (sell) the business to you, or another family member. He will probably have to fork out a carton or two of cigarettes, but that can be the price you pay for obtaining the business. Believe me, there are many career criminals in the system who know the law to a "T." They will be able to help your brother.
