  • Mike Simmons was born in born Rome, Georgia, in 1964. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Georgia in 1988. He was admitted to the Mississippi Bar in 1994 after obtaining his law degree, with special distinction, from Mississippi College School of Law. While in law school, Mike was a member of two national moot court competition teams and the editorial board of the Mississippi College Law Review. He was also on the Dean’s List six semesters, earned highest grade awards in multiple classes, and was awarded the Hearin-Hess Scholarship and the Alumni Association Scholarship.

    Mike authored "Section 1983 Litigation: History and Policy Spell the Demise of Qualified Immunity for Private Defendants" 14 Miss. C. L. Rev. 127 (1993). He is also a contributing author to Encyclopedia of Mississippi Law, (Thompson West 2001), speaks at continuing legal education seminars, and is a member of the Charles Clark Inn of Court.
