In early 1871, Friedrich Miescher discovered DNA while working at a laboratory in Tuebingen Castle in southwestern Germany. His finding also helped two later scientists Watson and Crick to create a DNA's structure after four years.. In late 1940s scientist knew that DNA is a molecule of life and contain four nitrogenous bases. These includes adenine, thymine, guanine and cytosine (usually abbreviated A, T, G and C), but nobody was aware of the shape of molecule. Watson also had the information of base pairing from Erwin chargoff that amount of adenine always equals the amount of thymine, and amount of guanine always equal to cytosine. For instance, human DNA contains about 30 percent adenine and 20 percent of guanine and also contains 30 percent of thymine and 20 percent of cytosine. With the help of many people knowledge and research In April 1953, James and Watson made the molecule structure of DNA- helix and this is time they achieved their goal. In 1962, they shared the Nobel Prize in physiology or medicine with Maurice Wilkins, for solving the DNA mystery with the help of X-ray crystallography. Nobody gave any credit to Franklin for her great hard work. . The worst part of this DNA race was that the person who started this race and was very close to aim could not make it. Franklin who was the responsible of DNA died before knowing that how much she helped other to understand the complex structure of DNA. Watson and crick received the award of discovering DNA, but only using many scientist discoveries that were ahead of them. ?The secret of 51?, is a movie about Rosalind Franklin and her contribution to science which reflect that how she has been treated unfairly. In 1968, James Watson, wrote a book? the double helix?, to reflect the structure of DNA and other scientist contribution to the study of this molecular structure. In his book he presented Franklin as bad tempered, arrogant, and jealous person, who was not able to interpret the DNA. Many scientist and reviewers did not like his attitude about Franklin, but his book was pretty popular. In order to give the answer of Watson attitude, Anne sayre published a biography of Watson role and Franklin contribution in the DNA discovery. Her book reflected how Franklin had been treated unfairly and could not receive the noble award which Maurice, Watson, and crick received..
