Can you Help me with my Civics?

Draft time!!!?

I think my friend doesn't really want to change her last name, which normally would bring up a whole separate set of questions, but their dicussion of the topic intrigued me, so that's one of the main reason's I'm asking.. is there anyway that your name changes?. . An acquaintance and friend are discussing that even if you don't go to the SS office your last name still changes. The acquaintance says it happens through the court system when the marriage certificate is filed, or through filing taxes as married even if you file under your maiden name. My friend is concerned about it because she never went to do it and apparently it's kind of bugging her husband.. . One other note, when she's checked her credit report it comes back with her maiden name and also known as her married name (if she'd have changed it).. . So, the question is... Once married do you have to change your name at the SS office (I did) or if you don't do that does it eventually get changed on it's own somehow through taxes or the court system?. Hmmm? So when I add details my original question gets moved down to the added details section? Sorry if it causes confusion, I didn't intend for it to happen that way..

I love the place I live in but there is a serious mouse infestation. So bad that they are actually in the tub pipes and in the walls. How do I deal with this?.
