A POA can appoint dual attorneys in fact. They can either work (do stuff) on their own or they can be required to both sign documents. However, your scenario doesn't make it clear as to what triggered the power. It may have been prepared for a limited time or it could be durable. It also could be what's referred to as a "springing" POA which means it doesn't take effect unless your grandfather became unable to manage his own affairs.. . It is likely that the POA was drawn up by your grandparents' lawyer. You might want to start there although he may not show the POA unless you're actually named as one of the attorneys in fact.
