This appears to be a question that probably should not be answered by anyone on this forum!. . I'm assuming the power of Attorney and advanced directive are dealing with health, continued living, etc. I would suggest that you contact an attorney in your state or city that handles Wills and Estates.. . Depending on exactly what your question is and how detailed it is, you may not even be charged by the attorney. But I would not seek legal advice for something of this nature on here!

My homeowners insurance automatically includes coverage for wedding and engagement rings up to about $3500 for no additional charge and no "riders" required, even if the loss is just due to the stone falling out. They just ask that there be a letter from the jewelry store that lists the description, appraised value and price. Most engagement rings include a limited warranty/guarantee as to the strength of the mount, prongs etc. Be cautious about store guarantees that require you to visit the store for a ring inspection every 6 months. The gimmick idea behind that is actually to get you to come in and buy more merchandise. Personally I would NOT go with any ring insurance sold by a jewelry store. If you have unusually expensive jewelry, then just go with the rider on a homeowners policy. It's likely to be a much better deal.
