You can apply to change your name at the Ontario website. It takes time to complete everything required on the application. There is a $137 charge to apply.. . A letter of intent is exactly that - a signed document that says that you "intend" to do something - without knowing the exact verbiage of the letter, it is impossible to say what you agreed to. However, from my work experience (and the fact that my wife is a teacher), the letter probably is a precursor to a formal job offer / contract offer. If your background check goes through OK, you will probably get an offer from the school.. . A point of advice - never sign anything unless you read it through first, and always get a copy of what you sign. Even better, get an original - make the people make two originals if they need one.
