• John grew up in Charlotte attending High School here and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte (UNCC 1982) where he majored in Political Science and Criminal Justice. He played on the Varsity Soccer team for UNCC. After College, John worked for a year as a Fire Tech for a alarm company before going to law school. He saw how hard people work for their money only to lose it all when a workplace injury happened. It was there that he decided to go to law school so he could help injured workers who he saw being treated unfairly. He attended and graduated from Campbell University School of Law (now in Raleigh, NC) and obtained his Juris Doctorate degree in 1986.
