I know that my name is such a tiny thing to be so OCD over but it would mean a lot to me to have the correct spelling of my name on such important documents. I just wish I had enough time to do everything in order!. . Another idea would be to do everything once the baby is actually born and just get the spelling of my first name fixed, get married and then maybe fix the entire name on her birth certificate (Is THAT possible???). . So frustrating....

You can go to the court and petition your last name to be changed. It depends on person's age to say if you need proof that your last name doesn't belong to your legal father . But since you are of age I believe you can do that but it is expensive. The court does not care for the reason that you want it changed, they just have to clear everything from creditors, and than you can change it. But this much I know it's expensive. I wanted to change my daughter's name and I found out that it costs a whole lot of money> Good luck

No. Power of attorney dies when the grantor does. It also dies when the attorney-in-fact does.

Do we have free will?

I own a house. There are 3 people on the title. Me, my wife. and her father. Her father wants to give her power of attorney. to sign documents just regarding the house.. Before he goes to his attorney he would like to know the exact name of the document he should be asking for and what kind. of documentation he should take.. . I am thinking he just needs her name and address and that it is called Comprehensive custom power of attorney.. Is this the correct name of the document?. Any help is appreciated. Thank You.

It doesn't matter. Planning to kill yourself is seen as a mental disease. Any heir who is upset about where the assets went could make an argument that the deceased was not of sound mind at the time of the planning.. . So if the person has kids, a spouse, living parents, etc., they would ultimately get whatever the law in that state allows to be taken by the respective parties. That's how the estate would be handled, like there wasn't a will at all.
