Monica Vela-Vick was born and raised in Corpus Christi, Texas. She is a graduate of Rice University (B.A., 2004) and the University of Michigan Law School (J.D., 2007), where she served on the Editorial Board of the Michigan Journal of Gender and Law and as Chair of the Latino Law Students Association (LLSA). She is a former law clerk to the Honorable Donna Woelpper of the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas. During her tenure as a law clerk in the family division, she routinely sat as a dependency master (hearing officer), issuing proposed findings of fact and conclusions of law for judicial approval.

A very sick friends house was auctioned at 5pm yesterday without any warning to the people trying to help him & could have stopped this but thought they were - he immediately listed the house and has proof of money due to him. He has police & medical reports, but much the Power of Attorney took. They tell me this legal & his fault - I can't accept that - why have POA or credit protection & why are not after her. Jan 19th it happened I offered money, was told it was ok, house was listed. At 5:20 call 5pm auction told them I pay, at 5:28 bank said 2 bad. I have been fighting them since. I need legal facts - thanks. The house was behind in payments, large personal checks were missing, Large amt of cash were taken, & medical records & invoices could not be located or not handled correctly.
