What does Power Of Attorney mean for a Military Army wife ?
Yes, a letter can sent sent before you apply. Usually the letter of recommendation needs to be on the official stationery (letterhead) of the teacher's school to be accepted as authentic by the college it is being sent to. However, some colleges and universities have established an electronic system of submitting letters of recommendation. Usually you would have to apply first and then would get the info about the way that your letters of recommendation could be submitted via computer. It will always help a person who is writing a letter for you if you would tell them the date by which the letter needs to be received. And, don't ever wait until the last minute to ask someone if he/she would be able to write a "strong" letter of recommendation for you. Be courteous when you make your request and, if the person, says "no", simply say "thank you" and leave. I would never write a negative letter of recommendation, so, if I couldn't write a "strong" letter for a student, I would refuse to write a letter at all. I know that I've given you info that you didn't ask for, but maybe it will be of use to you in the future. Good luck
Estate taxes are based upon the value of the estate at the time of passing, NOT how much is paid out to the beneficiaries. The portion of his estate that passed to his spouse is not subject to estate taxes as there is an unlimited exemption for spousal bequests. However when the spouse passes the entire value of the estate is what determines how much estate tax will be due, if any.. . For purposes of setting the value of the estate, disregard any trusts. They don't affect the valuation of the estate for Estate Tax purposes.
