My fiance and I live in Tennessee while his ex wife and two daughters live up in Michigan. I will try and explain the situation without overly boring anyone lol. He had temporary custody of his daughter's for five years while him and his ex were separated. Well she never bothered to call them or anything for about four years. She finally started to get in contact with them and after a year of constant contact with the girls she asked my fiance if she could have the girls for a month over Christmas (they were not in school yet). He agreed and drove up to Michigan and dropped them off. Well just before he was going to pick them up she hit him with divorce papers, custody papers, and child support papers and had her new mother in law pay for a lawyer for her. Well at the time my fiance could not afford a lawyer and didn't know what to do. Yes, I will admit and am still upset that he didn't fight harder against her (I didn't know him at the time). So he signed all the papers. That was about five years ago. Since then he pays $800 a month in child support and sees the girls during the summer and winter break. We have to drive to Michigan to get them as she refuses to let the girls go on a plane and will not meet us closer. . Every time his daughters show up not only do they smell like wet dog, but their clothes have holes and bleach spots all over them, their hair is greasy, and all their clothes are dirty. We normally buy new clothes for them and take care of them while they're with us naturally. They tell us that their mother sits all day on the computer, they do all of the chores in the house, and get made fun of everyday in school. They're easy to read and it's easy to tell when they're telling a true story and when they're making something up. The oldest one, who is going to be 12 this year, recently got her period. They were here last week for spring break and I happened to walk in the bathroom while she was picking up her dirty clothes and saw these incredibly dirty underwear. I had asked her if she had her period thinking she was too shy to tell me. Well she didn't have it, her mother just never taught her how to use a pad or a tampon so I sat with her and showed her how to use both. Her mother also doesn't buy her deoderant so I went to the store and bought her a bunch which will hopefully last her. The youngest daughter who is 9, is the one who has to do the laundry in the house. They live in a three bedroom trailer but she recently put them in a room together so that she could have a workout room. I don't think there's anything wrong with sisters sharing a room, but don't do it so that you can have a work out room! Every time we bring them up to Michigan they scream and cry, throwing up the whole night before because they don't want to live with their mother. After this last visit the whole family decided it was time to fight for custody so we called an ADAM lawyer in Michigan, which is a father's rights lawyer. My question is if anybody could give me any sort of idea how hard this is going to be? I know the girls are old enough now to where they'll ask the girls where they want to live and that will be considered but I just want to know how hard this is going to be. It seems like it should be easy but I know there are a lot of factors that go into it. Thank you!.

There is no fixed format for such a letter. Simply address it to the consul and tell the truth: explain your status in the US, what your plans are, who you are marrying and what his/her status in the US is, when the wedding is, and that you want your aunt to be there for the ceremony. Include a copy of the formal invitation that you no doubt sent to her already. Send the letter to your aunt to bring to her interiew. It will then be up to her to qualify for the visa.
