  • We Measure Success through Positive Impact

Leisawitz Heller is a medium-sized law firm located in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania. Since 1957, we’ve represented hundreds of clients in Berks County and throughout southeastern Pennsylvania. Our 15 attorneys, 9 paralegals and 11 administrative staff handle a wide variety of legal matters, from Personal Injury to Bankruptcy or Elder Law, yet each attorney concentrates his or her practice to only a few areas. Thus, each of our attorneys develops the depth of experience needed to become a leader in his or her practice areas.

At Leisawitz Heller, we know that when you need to seek legal council, you expect approachable lawyers and superior service. But what makes a lawyer great is not simply a mastery of the law. That’s a given. Great lawyers take ownership of their clients’ problems and do what’s necessary to solve them. They measure their success with the positive impact they have made on their clients’ lives, not in the size of the recoveries they win or the number of hours they bill.

That’s exactly what we do with each new client we welcome to our law firm. We have an obligation to serve the best interests of our clients and ensure their legal matters are handled properly. So if you’re looking for insightful lawyers with compassion and experience, feel free to contact us. We look forward to earning your confidence.

Can you suggest a good book or website for estate planning?

I am in the process of starting a guerilla mktg. firm. Does anyone have any sample proposals?

Normally, a court order wants to resolve everything that it can resolve. This way, you aren't coming back to court to have them explain things, change orders, etc.. . What she is asking here is that a divorce be allowed and her name is being restored. She is reserving the right (wanting to do it later) anything else that might come up. In essence, she is saying she wants another hearing to determine the student loan status. If she doesn't ask for it here, once they rule on the divorce and name change, it would be assumed that she would be responsible for the loans solely, unless your name was on the promissory note. If your name is on the note, it doesn't matter anyway. You're going to get stuck for them too.

You need to discuss this with an attorney. You probably just want full power of attorney which lets you act on her behalf in all legal and financial matters. You could voluntarily help her as much as you could or wanted to with just a power of attorney. I think if you become her guardian you become legally responsible for her well being and can be criminally prosecuted for neglect if something happened to her.
