Any women have difficulties changing surname after marriage?

I am divorced and both my ex and myself are on the deed to the house that I live in. He owes a considerable amount of debt and one creditor, through a law firm, placed a lien against my property on 2/23/12. Yesterday I filed a new quitclaim deed, 3/6/12, removing him from the deed. Does the lien still hold any ground? They are unwilling to settle for any less than the full bill and I am not willing to pay his debt.. Not only did I file the quitclaim, he IS no longer on the deed..

File with the name on your social security card. It doesn't matter what's on your paychecks, they'll match those up by ss#. If there's a different name on the bank account though and you try to do a direct deposit of your refund, they might not take it, so get the bank account changed over to your new name.
