Any class template (variadic or not) can be fully or partially specialized by any number of its template parameters (type or not).. . Had it been allowed, how would the compiler know which template to consider when parsing dd? Is it the single-parameter dd with a 2-element pack, or is it the two-parameter dd, with T=int and 1-element args? How would the compiler know which template are you specializing, if you introduce a full specialization, for example template<> dd?
