  • For more than 50 years, Brindisi, Murad, Brindisi & Pearlman, LLP, has served injured people in Upstate New York. As a leading personal injury law firm, our goal is to level the playing field, so that injured people have a fighting chance against insurance companies. It is for that very reason that we are known as the peoples' law firm.

We handle injury cases caused by automobile accidents, product defects, slip-and-fall accidents, medical malpractice, construction accidents and roadway defects.

Serious injuries such as spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries and severe electrical burns can be life altering, and birth injuries can impose limitations on a child's life. These things are preventable and should be avoided, but when they do happen, it is imperative to have a lawyer who understands what it takes to be successful when pursuing compensation for injury victims.

Due to our reputation as successful trial lawyers, many of our opponents choose to settle rather than face us in court. At Brindisi, Murad, Brindisi & Pearlman, LLP, we are experienced litigators who do not shy away from courtroom battles. We want our clients to be treated fairly and do everything in our power to enforce our clients' rights.

We offer free consultations to all new clients. Clients are not responsible for any attorneys fees unless we are successful in securing compensation.

First off, let me just say, welcome to the world of linguistics! I'm an avid supporter/researcher/genuine LOVER of linguistics in general, and I'm always thrilled to encounter other up-and-coming linguists :). . Having already learned one language (soon to be many, many more), I'd really quickly like to offer you a bit of advice. I noticed you said you were going to learn the "harder" languages first, but I must warn you...learning the "hard ones" first is not always the best idea. Believe it or not, you can actually LEARN how to LEARN a language. Crazy, right?? But it's true. I've experienced it personally. You get BETTER at learning language, the more languages you learn. For this reason, I say, get the simpler ones like Spanish, German, French, or Italian out of the way so that you have practice. By the time you speak these languages fluently, a difficult language like Polish or Hungarian will truly be AT LEAST two to three times easier. If you're planning on learning these other languages anyway, then trust me, it's worth it to wait on the Polish.. . Sooo...for your gender explanation--. . I'm going to start with defining a linguistic term that will help you immensly in your exploration of gender-specific language. The term is "declension.". . (I'm going to encourage you to read the definition slowly.). . Declension . is the modification of nouns, . pronouns, . or adjectives . to indicate number, . case, . animacy, . proximity, . familiarity,. gender,. and much more.. . Thank goodness that most nouns, pronouns and adjectives do not decline for ALL of these characteristics in one given language (English has the fewest declensions of practically any language, anywhere). However, many languages DO decline...especially, and most commonly, for GENDER and NUMBER.. . Spanish, for example, changes its adjectives based on gender and number. The word "las chicas" in Spanish means "the girls". And the word "esbelto" means "skinny." However, if you are saying "the skinny girls," you cannot simply say "las chicas esbelto." You MUST, MUST, MUST say "las chicas ESBELTAS."

How would I go about changing my 4 year old daughter's last name to that of mine and my husband? Her real father passed away before she was born. Where do I even start. We are not looking for him to adopt her but just a name change. Thanks!!.
