  • The lawyers at Gauntt, Earl & Binney, LLP, represent individuals and businesses in The Woodlands and throughout Montgomery County and Harris County, Texas. We are equipped to handle the majority of legal issues our clients face. Our practice areas include estate planning, probate, personal injury, family law, construction law, business law and more.

Our law firm was founded by Chad Gauntt, an attorney who began his career in one of the largest firms in the country: Fulbright and Jaworski, LLP. In 1998, after deciding to channel his experience and energy into a small firm environment, free from the conflicts and overhead inherent in large firms, he formed Gauntt & Kruppstadt, LLP. That firm became Gauntt, Earl & Binney, LLP, with the addition of attorneys Steven Earl and Geoff Binney.

Since then, we have grown to become the largest independent law firm in The Woodlands. We are a truly local practice, not merely a window office for a large Houston firm. As such, we care about our community and our clients. When they come to us for assistance with estate planning, probate or any other legal matter, we provide the personal attention they deserve.

Our lawyers have received a number of honors and awards, including being listed in Super Lawyers. Whether you need assistance with estate planning, probate or any other legal matter, you can be confident in our ability to deliver results.

Drivers License...HELP?!?

Anyone know which is the best UK Company to change my surname by Deed Poll. Also, are there any pitfalls in doing this and how much does it roughly cost? Sensible answers please!.

Hiya! Firstly, is that your standard cover letter? It's always better to tailor your cover letter to each position rather than just use a generic template. If it's for companies that have a website have a look on there and read a bit about them, and read the person specification on the job advert and relate your stated qualities to that, eg 'I believe I have the teamworking and communication skills required to make a successful career at xxx company', or 'I feel the ethical approach to business taken by xxx company makes it somewhere I would want to work'. It doesn't have to be too detailed, & obviously most customer service positions are similar, but just try to add something to each cover letter which personalises it to that particular company.. . Your cv is generally fine. However one of the common mistakes people make when writing about past jobs is to just list what they did - eg 'made outbound calls', without relating that to a skill. Instead, write stuff like - 'Developed skills in negotiation and persuasion through making outbound calls to prospective customers' and 'Gained the ability to think quickly and respond to diverse requests and queries as part of the inbound calls team'. Always use 'active' words like improved, gained, learned, developed, acquired etc. You don't have to relate every single thing you did to a skill, but try to on the most important ones, particularly those with responsibility or requiring a particular skill or attribute like communication, confidence, leadership etc. I know you have listed personal attributes in your personal statement and key skills section but you haven't really linked them to jobs you have done or backed them up with evidence - I mean, everyone's going to say that they are good team workers and communicators with good time management. You need to demonstrate that you have these skills by showing how you used them or gained them in the workplace.. . A couple of other things - are the dates right on the waitress job? Because that looks like you regularly leave jobs in order to go work in this place every summer, and have done since 2004. If the dates are wrong and you cut and pasted this from your cv then you may want to correct it! If it's a part time job or something then specify that, because at the moment your dates don't seem to add up. One other thing is - did you become an au pair? If you did, you should list it, otherwise it looks strange putting that as a reason to leave a job. If you didn't list it because you are only listing relevant work experience, make sure you write 'relevant work experience' at the top, otherwise it doesn't make sense. Good luck!. .

Should we contest power of attorney?

Alright I'm going to be going to college next year and I need my last name changed on my BC to make financial things less confusing. My parents both have my original last name, but shortened my last name. For some reason my shortened last name is only on my social security card, not my BC. Shortening the last name is all I need to do. My bank account/school info is under my shortened last name, but the fact that my long last name is on my driver's license (since they used the name on the BC) makes verification of these accounts inconvenient. Anyone know where I can get this done? and quickly?. I live in Illinois by the way.

A power of attorney can be granted or revoked by the grantor at any time.
