Hello Everyone! . I am writing a paper for a creative writing college course in which I have to synthesize and analyze multiple texts. We can do the paper in whatever kind of from we choose- a personal essay, a letter, a meditation etc and I wanted to write a speech modeled after one of the texts we read: Franz Kafka's "A Report to an Academy". I plan on having the speech develop in the same way as Kafka's and plan on using some of the same phrases (some of them altered a bit) as he uses throughout the essay. The point of me doing this is to have the overall feel and theme of his speech mirror what I am writing because I am trying to make a similar "claim" as Kafka did. Because this is a creative writing course and this paper is intended to be in my words I do not plan on using Kafka said "___" in the paper. What I am wondering is if my paper would be considered plagiarism even if the whole point is to closely mirror what Kafka wrote.
