  Ben recently defended a global engineering and construction company in an ICC arbitration and related court proceedings involving claims brought by a Brazilian power company over the temporary failure of a power plant. Prior to joining Jones Day in 2013, he worked on many matters, including the defense of a large multinational company's continued use of one of the most recognized international trademarks in an ICC arbitration against efforts by a French licensor to nullify the parties' license agreement. He also represented a Korean online gaming company in a fast-paced, multijurisdictional dispute with its former licensee.

These seem like legal, not medical terms. My father has dementia (Alzheimer's) and he has signed over power of attorney to my mother but he is still capable of making many decisions for himself. If he shot someone, for instance, he would know that it was wrong so he's not insane by that definition. However he might not know who he shot or why he shot them.. . It sounds to me like the family is trying to get control of her money/property and having a battle through doctor's documents. Very sad.
