I was wondering, what are Personal Injury lawyers for?.

Is it possible, to keep my daughter's last name (ex's last name -we were never married), but just hyphenate it with my last name, without needing consent from the father? I know he'd NEVER agree to changing it, or even hyphenating it... but to me having both names makes perfect sense.. . (my hubby has taken her in as his own, and I guess I just dont want her to feel out of place later on in life when she realizes her name is different.).

they will edit to fit their space. The briefer and more concise, the greater your chance that they'll use your article. Bear in mind that space is limited, so they can't publish all letters. Also, timeliness is important. If an event happened weeks ago and you're just getting around to writing about it, your letter is less likely to get picked up than if you'd written it right away.. . Below is a link to Sample Letters to the Editors, put out by Writer's Handbook.
