Less than a month in office, signs into law the $787 billion stimulus plan, the largest spending bill in the country's history. The package garners three Republican votes in the Senate, none in the House. Major elements include infrastructure spending, expanded unemployment benefits, increased food stamps, aid to states to pay for Medicaid and tax breaks for individuals and businesses. Estimates the bill will result in 3 million to 4 million jobs saved or created.. . Secures release of the second half of $700 billion allocated for the Troubled Asset Relief Program before taking office. Announces broad outline of Financial Stability Plan in February, a revamp of how TARP money will be used. Offers outline on plan to buy toxic bank assets, then later reveals details on how its new public-private investment program (PPIP) will work. Conducts stress tests to assess big banks' ability to absorb losses if economic conditions worsen. Taps Fannie Mae CEO to oversee TARP.. . Calls for establishment of a single regulator to manage risk in the financial markets and to regulate firms ? both banks and non-banks - whose failure could be catastrophic for the economy.. . These are just some of the thing he did in the first 100 days (Didn't post all just a few due to limited space). . He's not doing the country good, but he is damn sure doing people of color good. Which is NOT what this country needs. Plus the businesses are way down as you pointed out... But what does he do? ADDS MORE TAXES. He either has little to no common sense... or is doing it on purpose...or is a racist... Or a combination. If my memory serves me correctly the left wing agenda along with the left wing media pounded President Bush for a total of 8 years. In the short 50+ days that Obama has been President he has outspent Bush's 8 years, combine that with the fact that Obama promised transparency and an end to ear marks but lied on both of these accounts. No one, including congress and the senate had the opportunity to read the $810 pork barrel stimulus plan before he signed it into law and he just signed an $410 billion dollar omnibus bill that had 9,000 earmarks. You wonder why the taxpayer is upset, you don't need to look far. He is a tax and spend liberal and nothing but a puppet for Pelosi and Reid. . 1. Higher Taxes, (penalize the banks with this new tax they are purposing, even. though this bank has paid back the tarp money with interest. So the governement. made money.. 2. Epa backdoor, to the Cap and Trade bill. Which will impose huge taxes. on carbon emmission, yes even carbon dioxide the air you breath.. So, if i was going to invest, why would i do it in this country to get taxed to high heaven.. At this point If I was going to invest 5 billion, I would rather do it in a non-communist. country.. 3. Illegal Immigrations the path to citizenship for breaking the law.. . 4. Healthcare takeover, (medicare is broke already, and now the babyboomers are going to start collecting). . Now with 10%, unemployment. . Govenment wants to tax the hell out of the private sector, imposing more and more. regulations, with EPA, penalize this and that, the bank starts to loose money.. They use to make 1billion net, but now with all the restrictions and guidelines, that. (Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac dont have to follow) they make on 500million.. . If Im the boss for this company, I am going to have to answer to my shareholders, as. for why such big losses. . The bank is slowing down, people are not paying loans, defaulting mortgages, defaulting credit cards, car payments, not enough bank deposits and so on.. . So, I turn around and say what could I do. . My first arm of defense with falling profits is (YES) adjust my labor.
