• Calvin Thur has been providing legal services to the citizens of Arizona for over four decades. He has been licensed to practice law in the State of Arizona since 1962, having graduated from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 1959. He is licensed to practice before all state and federal courts in Arizona, the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and the United States Supreme Court.

  In 1970 Mr. Thur started a "purpose oriented" law practice – a practice aimed at protecting consumers by causing changes in our laws or in the conduct of wrongdoers. In 1979, he began handling insurance bad faith litigation and insurance coverage issues in an effort to correct unfair practices in that industry and to protect consumers. Mr. Thur tried the earliest first-party insurance bad faith case in Arizona before the Arizona Supreme Court had formally recognized such a cause of action in Arizona.

  In 1982, he started handling insurance bad faith cases exclusively and has done so for the past 28 years. His firm has obtained many multi-million dollar settlements and recoveries for clients in bad faith cases and created extensive law in the area of insurance bad faith. When important insurance issues have been at issue in a case, the Firm has assisted numerous litigants and consumer organizations, such as United Policyholders, in preparing Amicus Briefs pro bono.

  Some of the firm’s cases have gained national recognition and publicity. i want to start up a health care agency providing carers and support workers to people and organizations who need them. i am looking at starting with a staff of 6 carers and already have agreements with clients as i started looking for clients when i got the idea. i dnt feel i need a loan as i have saved enough for 3 months wages for the carers. i have the carers and have had them trained and they have all the necessary training and checks crb included. . what i want to know is can i register this as a sole trader since its a small business and or will i have to as a ltd company?.
