Children can and do publish books. It is a very competitive market and publishers receive tons of submissions. Many publishers no longer accept submissions except through an agent. The publishing process is the same regardless of age or target audience.. . Do some research and determine a list of publishers who you feel might be interested in your book. Look for similar books to yours and who published it. (For instance- If your book is about Dogs in Space, don't send it to a publisher who never did a science book- find one who has published space-related books for children.). . *** Cover letters are very important! ***. . Read some tips about cover letters, such as "do's and dont's." There are many sample cover letters on line, including many written for children's books that were subsequently published and successful.. . Once you have a sample chapter (or whatever they ask for, illustrations, for example), submit it and don't get discouraged by rejection. Remember they are a business and it costs them money and labor to produce a book- they are looking to make a profit. Keep your submission in circulation- if you get a rejection slip, mail it the next day to the next publisher on your list. Have your next cover letter already written and ready to go. Remember, even JK Rowling received 12 rejection letters before the first Harry Potter book was accepted (more, depending on the source).. . Always send a self-addressed stamped envelope with your submission so it can be promptly returned.. . Some publishers ask for a Query Letter, which can be done online. Query Letters are very helpful- a publisher will let you know if they will consider your book or not. Usually conventional mail is required for actual submissions.. . Best of Luck! Keep writing!. . *** Caution about Agents and Vanity Publishers: Many agents are unscrupulous or outright frauds who rip off aspiring authors (ANY agent who asks for money is a fraud

Do you guys think private health insurance companies like UnitedHealth, Aetna will go down because of Obama's public health care option? I see a huge price dips in health insurance stocks and they just don't make sense to me. I have many reasons to justify this. First, if Obama takes over health insurance, there is no way that most of the private health insurance companies will crash, because if that happens, massive layoffs will happen, and the economy is going to go down again. What do you guys think about this?.
