• I am a sole practitioner who specializes in the representation of injured workers or claimants in Kansas and Missouri workers' compensation cases. I am licensed in both states. I graduated from Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas in 1970 and Washburn University Law School in 1973. I served as Assistant Director of Workers' Compensation for the State of Kansas from 1973 to 1977. In that position I served as a trial judge or appellate judge and decided many significant cases.

  Since 1977 I have been in private practice in Wyandotte and Johnson Counties in Kansas and Kansas City in Missouri. During this time I have served on state and local committees to improve workers' compensation laws. I have given many lectures, speeches and presentations to state and local associations including The Kansas Bar Association, The Kansas Trial Lawyers Association, The Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association and The Wyandotte and Johnson County Bar Associations. In 1995 I was elected to Best Lawyers in America, Workers' Compensation. From 1997 to 1999 I served as a chairman of the Workers' Compensation Committee for KTLA, an organization dedicated to protecting and improving the rights of injured workers and consumers and their families. I have testified before the Kansas Legislature on several occasions regarding workers' compensation issues. I am also a member of The Workers' Injury Litigation Group (WILG), a national organization dedicated to improving workers' compensation laws and protecting the rights of injured workers.

  Because of the nature of my practice, I have developed a network with other prominent attorneys who specialize in medical malpractice, products liability, personal injury, wrongful death, wrongful discharge and social security disability claims.

Stopping Health Care Fraud with Medicare Supplier and Provider Identity Cards. . Dear Mr. Obama,. . No person like the average citizen may conduct business without having OFTEN to present a Driver License or other form of ID, usually with Photo and called Photo ID.. . Yet Medicare Provider busineses can fraudulently bill Medicare and NO ONE KNOWS who they are nor where they went when the fraud is discovered.. . I have devoted some time to thinking about how to solve this problem.. . Corporations and businesses must have an IDENTITY too. And the ID for Medicare Billers should be a page which accompanies the paperwork or e-transmission and INCLUDES photos, names and addresses and phones for the Principal Owners and Managers of SAID BUSINESS and also carries a Certificate Number specifically assigned by the Secretary of State for their state.. . That way we KNOW who did it when the fraud is discovered and can get our $60 billion back.. . False Provider ID can be discovered by Medicare entering the ID or Certificate # onto the computer and pulling up the true people for whom that Provider ID applies. That States should retain personal ID info on whom they CERTIFY, yes?. . We know how to catch people who are criminals and this will make sure we can catch criminal businesses.. Dumb suggestion, question states I already did send it to Obama.. $60 billion per year in Medicare fraud means MORE than $2 trillion in fraud since Medicare started.
