cover letters are short and sweet. Everything should be contained in one page - typically it's about half a page or so of writing, if not less.. . It should include:. . who you are writing to (so they know that you are applying to their company). who you are (name, email, address, and other contact information). your current status (still a student in xxx year? graduated? etc). what position you are applying for (title, ideal start date or period). how they can contact you . what you are sending them (example: resume, letters of recommendation, etc). a sentence or two you might want to include to highlight yourself, without being redundant (in other words, don't re-list the stuff you put down on your resume). . finally.. some friendly message to end the letter like... "Please don't hesitate to contact me if you need further references"

what is the process for a high school student to get a recommendation letter?
