4) The terms of the contract must be clear and certain. So, for example, if John offers to sell his car, which Alan accepts, the term of that agreement must identify the cost of transferring ownership of the car. If it did not, John could not claim breach of contract by repudiation if, once the agreement has been made, John stipulates a price for the car that Alan would then be unwilling to pay.. . 5) Capacity - ie, contracts may be rendered ineffective or void if a party lacks the necessary capacity to enter in a contract. I've only changed my name for marriage reasons, and it hasn't been too much of a pain. My employer was good about changing it, and when I went back to school I was able to change it on all of my information. Even my transcripts from the college I graduated from had my new name on it after I changed it with the Alumni office. . Once you change your social everything can basically be changed over to the new name, because that's you now...and no one asked me why I changed my name, I expected some people to be like "oh you got married?!" but no one seemed to care.. Just don't make a big deal about it, be clear and straightforward. If people see you act uncomfortable when telling them you changed it, they'll think something interesting happened. If you're just like "Yes, I changed my name." Period. They'll just move on... At least that's what I think.... . EDIT: my grandmother has changed her name 3 times (once she even changed her full name the first time she got married....first, middle and last) and as far as I know no one has had issues with it....
