You need a good estate-planning lawyer before the wedding. There's simply no way to get this kind of advice on Y!A (beyond the suggestion of a lawyer). You've got to get these ducks in a row before entering into a legal relationship with your future wife. It's not as easy, however, as you might think to exclude her from partial ownership. Once you're married, she has essentially a half interest in any earnings you make from that point on (including social security contributions, retirement accounts, etc.). A good estate planning lawyer can help your parents set-up a trust, which can include the business assets. This should minimize the degree to which they might become exposed during a divorce. As the business (etc) belongs to your parents right now, this is really their job/interest, not yours. But you might sit down with them and the lawyer together to work through the details.

She just needs to sign a statement revoking the power of attorney and/or appointing a new person with power of attorney and make sure a notarized copy is delivered to the former person with power of attorney. Of course, since he still has the old paperwork, you would need to contact any financial institutions where her information is held to let them know of the change.

Need help with how to start this business letter... please read on.?

So my friend hacked my flash drive so that not only is my flash drive's name changed, I can't change it back. I tried clicking on it and pressing "rename" but it still goes back to what it was before. I thought I remember him doing something with notepad and after doing a few things, certain files appeared but then went away when I plugged it into any other computer. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!. It shows the name I want "FLASH DRIVE" but only on the address. But when I go under computer, it shows the name I don't want. So how do I change everything?.

My father has Alzheimers and 2 of my siblings have power of attorney. My father was an author and has royalties from his books. My siblings are setting up an LLC and naming themselves and their heirs are the controllers. Is this legal? I have been told that because they have POA they can do whatever they want. Additionally they have taken possession of all of my father's possession claiming that none of it has any value. They say that because there is no value only the money left after he dies will be part of the estate to be distributed. I know there are paintings and other valuables at the time my father had to be put into a home..
