Since it took the "threat" of Sharia Law being "imposed" on the US to finally get fundy Xtians behind the whole "Separation of Church and State" thing?. . Can you think of anything else that has been so successful so quickly?. . Thanks in advance/.

I don't believe that "withholding extreme medical measures" is considered euthanasia. Euthanasia is also known as assisted suicide where the person is GIVEN an extreme medical "treatment" that will cause cardiac arrest.. . No, it is not humane. However, allowing someone to pass by withholding extreme medical measures (for example, open heart surgery with the implantation of an internal pacemaker on a 95 year old) is acceptable. That kind of radical surgery for that client would almost entirely mean death on the table or during an attempt at recovery.. . Likewise, in the ICU that I work in, many clients are on mechanical ventilators. Sometimes an advanced directive or the durable power of attorney wishes that the person be removed from the ventilator. With that, they soon have respiratory failure and pass. Is that euthanasia? No. Because euthanasia is illegal. We are not allowed to do illegal things.. . Likewise, advanced directives can be made at any time. If you are in an accident and unable to speak for yourself, advanced directives will tell the healthcare providers and family that your wishes are not to be sustained by artificial means. However, if you are not being sustained by artificial means (ventilator/tube feeding), then it is illegal for a healthcare provider to infuse a medication that intends to cause death. It is against the "vows" that physicians and even nurses take when they obtain license to practice.

How legally binding is an advanced health directive?

Ok so I saw this ad on the newspaper about an open position as a quality control person for this produce company. I called them today and the guy told me to come on monday for an interview. I asked him what I should bring with me and he said a resume. Should I also include a cover letter? Or are cover letters just for trying to get an interview? If I do decide to write a cover letter how should I hand it to them? Should I put the letter and my resume in a folder or what? Should I include a cover page too or something? Im bringing the resume to the interview for sure so should I put that in a folder? And should I put anything else in the folder or just the resume?.

I'm helping my girlfriend with her job. Her office is going to move a few towns over and they said it was okay for her to work from home. All they asked was for her to submit a proposal letter. However, i haven't really found any layout for what a proposal letter should consist of. Any ideas or push in the right direction?.

MY question to you is this: do you think that they would voluntarily give this up. How do we take these perks away from them? . You forgot to mention that they get a pension from each and every political job they ever held.. They laugh every time someone puts something like this in a letter on the internet. All we do is complain, write very ineffective letters , but other wise do nothing about it, AND They know it!. . Don't forget Obama helped the bank ( first) that have their pensions in it. Now if that would have been where our money was, he would have done nothing!. Every person in the United states can see this letter and it will do no good, Something positive has to be done! Letters will not do it!. . add too: as long as your up, The Honest won't take bribes no matter how poor they are and the dishonest will take bribes, no matter how rich they are! It isn't the rich that benefit it is the politicians that take care of themselves, ( some rich may benefit from loop holes put into laws/ bills).. Too Duane: Great way to solve the problem, LOL
