Litigation

Litigation

You need something called a Lasting Power of Attorney. Normally these are granted by someone when the are still "with it" in anticipation that they might one day need someone to look after their affairs. Assuming your gran is beyond this you need to apply to the Court of Protection. This will take a long time and cost a lot of money.. . Even if/when you get one it may not prevent your aunt doing what she is doing, and not getting one may not prevent you from stopping your aunt.. . If the account is in joint names then the money is legally as much your aunt's as it is your grans. So you can't stop her spending it - although you could withdraw it on your gran's behalf. Having said that, if your aunt already has legal control of your gran's assets then I doubt the Court of Protection would grant a power of attorney to you.. . If her name is on the account as a trustee (ie to enable her to operate the account on behalf of your gran) then her taking the money for herself is theft. If you believe this is the case report her to the police. You could also complain to the bank. You may, even without a power of attorney, be able to launch a court case on behalf of your gran to sue your aunt for breach of trust.

I had a loan in 2007 with lloyds but in 2009 I lost my job as a self employed taxi driver due to being diagnosed with depression and type 1 diabities they paid the repayments for 12 months then stopped so now Im left with this huge loan to pay, which I pay a couple of quid a month,I was told I would be covered when I took the loan but it seems I wasn't

I've been trying to find online examples of specific directives (like directives against tube feeding or surgical procedures), like 'senor snark' who answered my last post, suggested. I can't seem to find anything. Could you point me in the right direction?. . Thanks so much--.

Stolen 104k: how to handle it?

I am an Accounting-Finance double major with an international emphasis and plan on getting my CPA. I love working with numbers and figuring out problems, but lately Real Estate has especially interested me. What types of careers could combine all of these aspects? I also especially love traveling/living abroad (I am in Germany right now), so International opportunities and a decent salary are a bonus :).
