• Terrence M. Franklin, Partner at Sacks Glazier Franklin & Lodise, is a seasoned attorney with more than two decades of experience handling trust and estates litigation, disputes and appeals and probate and estate administration. His breadth of experience underscores the firm's long-standing reputation and the reason clients turn to the firm for complex cases involving significant dollar amounts.

  Mr. Franklin has extensive trial and appellate experience, including successful published appeals and the landmark Moeller case, which was brought before the California Supreme Court. 16 Cal. 4th 1124.

  An active member of the trusts and estates legal community, he serves on the Diversity Task Force for the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC), where he is committed to improving the membership among diverse and minority lawyers. He is working with ACTEC to develop strategies to make the trust and estates practice area more attractive to minority law students and young attorneys, and was instrumental in developing a diversity mission statement for ACTEC. In addition, he serves on both the California Membership Committee, the Fiduciary Litigation Committee of ACTEC and the Board of Directors for the ACTEC Foundation.

  He is a Council Member and Supervisory Council Member for the Litigation, Ethics and Malpractice Group of the American Bar Association (ABA) Real Property, Trust and Estate Section, and is a Former Vice Chair of the Practice Group Management and Former Chair of the Ethics and Malpractice Committee.

  Mr. Franklin is frequently called upon as a speaker to national, state and local estate planning, trust, and probate groups, such as ACTEC, ABA Real Property Trust and Estate Law Section, USC Probate and Trust Conference where he is also a long-standing Planning Committee member, the Southern California Tax and Estate Planning Forum, Matthew Bender & Co., and the Practicing Law Institute. Most recently, he spoke at the ABA's Real Property Trust and Estates Symposium in Washington, D.C. where he moderated the program, "Is Your Spouse a Trust Beneficiary? State Law Holds the Key for Same Sex Spouses," as well as coordinated a program on discrimination in real property trust and estate law.

  Mr. Franklin has been named to the list of Southern California Super Lawyers every year since 2005, and has been included on the list of the Best Lawyers in America every year since 2011. He speaks fluent French.

I don't think it illegal to generate a purchase order number, the number is really for your benefit so you can keep track of your orders and quote them to the company should there be any future issues, or should you want to expedite your order. It is certainly easier to keep track of your orders using a system that works for you, this is also good for auditing purposes should that arise. It is also easier for your bank reconciliation and financial aspect as you will be able to tie up your purchase ledger and payments and any credits you may be owed more efficiently. The problem with just using the date is that you may potentially order in future more than once on the same day for example and then it just becomes confusing. If you don't have specific software for generating orders at your end you could simply obtain an old fashioned order book readily available in most stationers which are already numbered and attach a copy of this to your template document which you will use to actually order with the company. It's good to stay organized with your paperwork in numerical form, this will make it easier should you have any problem with the order and supplier.

I am a UK Citizen living overseas and want to change my surname (and add a middle name too), do i need to do it via the UK and the deed poll system or can i do it in the country i now reside?. .
