  • After beginning her legal practice as a litigator in Baltimore, Maryland, Jody Florence joined the firm in 1998 and became a partner in 2003. Since joining the firm, she has exclusively represented and advised employers in labor and employment matters. . I was told to go ahead & write a letter to the judge & let them know that, that i never received the notice letter for the hearing, which is why i didn?t appear or didn?t know and i wasn?t there when you tried to call me. Below is my letter help me if you can please. . Your honor, . . Dear honorable john J. Smith I am writing wth regards of the letter that i have received from Administrative Law Judge. Your honor respectfully to begin with. i would like to state that i did not receive a letter or a voicemail massage at all from your office, secondly i was not even notified that i have a hearing appointment scheduled on such date. So how can i know that i have an appointment, also i have sent almost 5/6 emails through the Michigan unemployment online system to find out about appointment when is my hearing going to be scheduled. Always the answer i get back is ?you will be notified by mail? so i have been checking my mail box and i am the only one who opens my mail box. Finely i received a letter. And the letter is stating that:- ORDER DISMISSING APPEAL DUE TO LACK OF PROSECUTION Pursuant to notice, a hearing was scheduled for Detroit, MI. on January 4, 2011 at 1:pm. The appellant/claimant did not appear. The case was dismissed at 1:18pm. I was very shocked when i read the letter. I went ahead and i called the unemployment office to explain it them that how can i know that i have an appointment without being notified & i never received a notice hearing i did not receive a letter or a massage from your unemployment office to show or state that i have an appointment scheduled for my hearing. So after i explained everything to the unemployment staff member that i never received the notice letter for the hearing which is why i didn?t appear and i would like a new hearing. I was told to go ahead & write a letter to the judge & let them know that, that i never received the notice letter for the hearing, which is why i didn?t appear or didn?t know and i wasn?t there when you tried to call me.. . PLEASE READ DETAILS:. I need to know everything about legally changing my name in Florida. I need all of the full extent of details.
