I want to have my daughters last named changed to my last name, right now she currently has her biological fathers last name. He is only involved in her life when it is convient for him. He is not that great of a father and i didnt want her to have his last name to begin with, but after the delivery i was really messed up with a broken tailbone from the delivery and i couldnt stand to fight with him about it at that time. Now im ready to put up the fight to have her named changed. i brought this up to him and he is agianst this choice. what can i do and how can i fix this..

Some suggestions:. - To find a job look up businesses in your area going from street to street (google maps helps with this as it supplies phone numbers, addresses, and a website if they have it), mark down the phone numbers and other information you can find out such as the manager, address, and position you applied for/when you applied, for all the businesses you wouldn't mind working for (keep in mind to be a little more open in your job search as the job market still sucks and just because you get a job now, it does not mean you have to stay there forever. If anything you can view the job as your freedom) and then apply to those businesses. Call back a week after you applied and ask the manager if they've reviewed your application, if they say they are not hiring at the moment, ask when they think the next hiring session will be, mark down the date and call back then if you haven't found a job already. Also, if you get an interview, thank them for their time during it, and then follow up with a handwritten letter, thanking them personally for the interview. This shows that you have a drive to work for them and that you have the dedication and caring personality to go through the trouble of doing all of that.. . - If you don't have a resume, there are plenty of good templates you can use online through google search. If you are worried about a lack of education or employment history, that's alright just highlight all of your skills/ good qualities, and polish the resume off with a professional cover letter that's customized for EACH business you apply to.. . - In searching for a different place to live, do not go for style or for something that requires absolutely no work, look for something that's low cost and that suits your needs. As with the job, the place does not have to be permanent, and as long as the problems of the house/apartment/condo are not truly devastating, you may even find that you enjoy fixing the problems as it gives you a sense of ownership/pride in your work and where you live, and eventually you could even make it into your dream house.. . - If your parents are truly abusive, I would recommend keeping the fact that you're leaving a secret until the day that you leave. However if much of their nagging is about your situation then make a big show of your progress by allowing them to see you trying to find a job and a place to live. You could even include them in the search by asking them to offer suggestions or even pick you up the free newspapers and house/apartment magazines they have at grocery stores.. . - Get an education. Most colleges, especially community colleges(which I suggest you look into first as they're cheapest and offer many degrees that will transfer to universities later) or a technical college because despite how much everyone down talks them, they're very excellent schools because they're cheap like a community college and instead of getting a two year degree which gives you nothing to go on as far as a job goes, you learn a trade (whether it be nursing, culinary, electrical, etc.) that you can use right away and most people get a well paying job within six months of their graduation, most colleges offer extremely cheap daycare on campus that you can take your son to while you're in school. The reason it's so cheap is because the school is teaching students how to become teachers or social workers and therefor they need children for the students to interact with. Also most schools offer a headstart/preschool program that your son could enroll in later on while you're getting your degree and therefor he could start off getting a good education..
